What is a Sandbox Course?

A sandbox course is a course created by a teacher for the purpose of drafting and developing content to be used in other courses. Sandbox courses can be shared by multiple teachers and are ideal for collaborative efforts.

Why create a Sandbox Course?

Sandbox courses are a great place to work on content or other assets that you want to distribute to your courses or share with other teachers. Since you don't have students looking in, they are a safe space to experiment and try things out. Some teachers invite other teachers as students so that they can test the students experience. Sandbox courses can serve as a filing cabinet of assignments, quizzes, modules, pages, files and discussions that can easily be imported into your courses, and support easily reuse of those assets across multiple courses term to term or year to year.

Creating a Sandbox Course

It's easy to create a Sandbox Course. Any teacher can create a course (see video below) and then begin building new assets or adding assets from other courses.
