Students in middle school develop understanding of key concepts to help them make sense of life science. The ideas build upon students’ science understanding from earlier grades and from the disciplinary core ideas, science and engineering practices, and crosscutting concepts of other experiences with physical and earth sciences. This year in health we will be learning about how to make healthy decisions about your body and how you can make good choices with regard to your health. This is a one-trimester course. Topics include: Wellness and Safety, Nutrition, Social-Emotional Health, Tobacco and Smoking/Vaping, Bones and Muscles, and F.L.A.S.H (Family Life and Sexual Health).

HOMEROOM 678 A_Gurule_R1
Homeroom at Pine Lake Middle will meet the needs of students by providing them with purposeful time to take care of school business, advocate for themselves as learners, and develop independent problem-solving and reasoning skills. In Homeroom spaces, technology (personal and school) will be used as a learning tool serving the purpose of supporting learning and progress. Using school or personal devices for video games is not permitted during Homeroom.
