Course Syllabus

WHAT IS SOAR? Soar is an important class at CMMS to promote community, belonging and learning. It occurs on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday from 8:10 to 8:35 am for each grade level. Other Soar Activities & Events will include: Falcons in Focus Celebrations, Expectations Reteach Lessons & Soar Senate.

 

EXPECTATIONS:

  1. We are Kind: Engage in positive ways that support the success of yourself and others.
  2. We are Safe: Be where you are supposed to be and use a pass outside of the classroom.
  3. We are Engaged: Participate in the lesson, activity or choice task.
  4. We are Mindful: Plan revision opportunities and conferences in advance with teachers.

 

Monday Schedule

  • Behavior Lessons: Students will engage in lessons to promote social-emotional awareness, growth and positive citizenship. Occasionally, students will be asked to complete school surveys.
  • Falcon Choice Time: Days without a lesson or a survey, students will engage in Falcon Choice Time.

Tuesday Schedule

  • Social Emotional Lessons (SEL): Students will engage in lessons to promote social-emotional awareness and growth. Occasionally, students will be asked to complete school surveys.
  • Falcon Choice Time: Days without a SEL lesson or survey, students will engage in Falcon Choice Time.

Thursday Schedule

  • Take Flight/Flight Crew & ASB Leadership: These student groups will provide information or lead a lesson/activity to promote belonging, connection and community.
  • Falcon Choice Time: Days without a lesson or activity, students will engage in Falcon Choice Time.

Friday Schedule

  • Planner Checks: Every Friday Soar Homeroom teachers will check student planners and celebrate students who have used their planner for the week (Mon-Thurs) by issuing a Talon Ticket!
  • Falcon Choice Time: Students will engage in Falcon Choice Time.
