SOCIAL STUDIES 6 B_Laramore_TR2
6th Grade Social Studies is aligned with the Washington State Standards and examines the development of early humans and the ancient civilizations in the Mediterranean region; Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, China, Greece and Rome, and Mesoamerica. We analyze historical interactions between people, geography, politics, economics, and cultures, while making connections with current events/issues. Throughout the course students will be asked to think critically, enhance social studies skills, and communicate effectively in a variety of settings (large group, small group, peer to peer, presentations, projects, writing, etc.), using documents, maps, charts, graphs, technology, multimedia platforms, and informational tools.

SOCIAL STUDIES 7 B_Lozada_TR2
This course meets the requirements of WAC 392-410-120, which states that all students are required to take a one-semester course in Washington State history and government. The course "shall include a study of the Washington state Constitution and is encouraged to include information on the culture, history, and government of the American Indian people who were the first inhabitants of the state."
