Charger Time is a class for important activities that includes reading, social-emotional lessons, student surveys, retakes/redos, and WEB/ASB lessons. It is not a study hall. Students are expected to bring a book or something to read for the duration of Charger Time.

Maywood Singers is a beginning, yearlong ensemble open to all sixth-grade students. We focuse on the development of comprehensive choral musicianship through daily rehearsal and culminating performance experiences. A harmonious ensemble cannot be achieved without embedding social and emotional skills for communication, collaboration and self-monitoring in daily rehearsals. Student musicians will experience a breadth of music repertoire while deepening their skills in musical literacy, including sight-reading, written expression of music, score study, singing, and performing.

Course Description: The Advisory/Homeroom course covers our uniqueness, developing friendships, goal setting, decision-making, conflict resolution, bullying and career exploration. The Advisory/Homeroom course will promote a sense of belonging, trust, and confidence, which can help our students feel secure in solving personal problems or conflicts with peers. The Advisory/Homeroom course will also provide guidance in decision-making and the examination of alternatives to situations the student faces daily. This is not a graded course.
